105.1 Triple M Raises A Record $148,703.75 For Give Me 5 For Kids 2018!

105.1 Triple MMM Orange is proud to announce we have raised $148,703.75 during our Give Me 5 for Kids charity initiative in 2018. 

With key fundraising events including the $10,000 Local Shopping Spree, Century 21 Charity Golf Day, Orange Camel Races, and strong support from the Hotel Canobolas and Woolworths Regional Stores along with generous community donations, 105.1 Triple MMM has continued to create a collaborative approach to our fundraising and strong support for the Children’s Ward at the Orange Health Service.

This year, we will help purchase ENT Equipment (18 x pieces of specific equipment) helping insert grommets and reduce infections valued at $30,000 and C-MAC video system which accesses the airway and displays images in real time during emergencies and surgery valued at $65,000.

The broader Give Me 5 for Kids 2018 campaign aims to support the hospitals that care for children throughout regional Australia. 105.1 Triple MMM’s s involvement in the Give Me 5 for Kids fundraiser is part of parent company Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) campaign, which launched in the mid 90’s as a simple coin drive. Since then, the appeal has raised more than $26 million nationally, benefiting over 40 children’s hospital wards by utilising our local Radio and TV stations.

SCA’s 2018 combined fund raising total is $3.6 Million. Southern Cross Austereo, General Manager, Steve Golfin said: “The generosity and support this important campaign receives is inspiring and I’d like to express a heartfelt thankyou to all that get behind the charity. This year is another record result with our highest fund raising ever. This significant contribution will buy vital medical equipment for the local children’s ward. A key aspect of GM5FK is all monies raised stay local and our local kids will directly benefit. I’d like to thank our listeners, local business’, our Triple MMM staff and the various community groups throughout the Central West for their efforts and support.”

Give Me Five for Kids has continued to grow each year with increased community support, with the beneficiaries of the campaign the children’s wards and facilities at local hospitals.
