Graduation Day!

An Aussie songwriting legend has put pen to paper to write a moving track about the extreme and extraordinary situations our boys and girls in blue face every single day, in support of the Police Federation of Australia's mental health campaign.

John Schumann wrote Graduation Day to help bring awareness to the cause, and fittingly, sales of the single (via this link) will go towards supporting police officers (serving and retired) and their families who are in need.

A sample of the song is available via this link and what can we say, it's pretty powerful stuff.

LISTEN TO GRADUATION DAY HERE.

If the voice you're hearing is familiar, it should be. Schumann wrote the Aussie classic I Was Only 19, which is credited with helping Aussies change their tune on our Veterans' involvement in the Vietnam War.

In writing and recording Graduation Day, Schumann felt that telling a story via song was the ideal way to make people aware about the day to day challenges of serving Policemen and women.

“I firmly believe that if you want to change the way people think and behave, tell them a story. That’s what I did, quite by chance in fact, with “I Was Only 19”. We are Australians - we respond best to stories. Don’t lecture us, don’t subject us to death by PowerPoint, don’t write a report - tell us a story and we’ll get it.”

The song is available to purchase via this link.
