Triple M's Damian Barrett has named the five "breakaway" teams in the AFL this season, leading the race for the flag.

BARRETT'S TOP 5 BREAKAWAY TEAMS:

Barrett joined Triple M's Rush Hour for Damo's Recovery Session on Monday and believed the there were now five teams that stood out in front of the rest in terms of quality.

It didn't include Brisbane, who sit fourth with six wins from nine games, but the young Lions did receive a special mention.

"Of the remaining 13 games, only four are against teams in the eight currently," he said.

"So they're done the hard yards already."

Then JB and Damo gave Billy a bit of stick for not naming West Coast to finish in the eight himself!
