Mattress Used In Attempted Arson Attack On Hugh Street Home

Townsville firies have been called this morning to an attempted arson attack at a house on the corner of Palmerston and Hugh Street. 

It's believed that a mattress was set alight at the property, but the flames were extinguished before extensive damage took over.  

A 42-year-old has been charged with attempted arson and will be in court this morning.

Police will continue to guard the scene.
