Tiger Woods has ended an 11-year major title drought with a gritty win in the Masters at Augusta overnight.

Woods’s two-under par 70 was enough for him to claim a one-short victory over Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele.

It is Woods’s first major win since the 2008 US Open, and his 15th overall — just three short of Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18.

Woods’s triumph at Augsuta is the 43-year-old’s fifth and comes 14 years after his fourth.

Italian Francesco Molinari led by two shots coming into the final round but shot two over to end tied for fifth with Jason Day, Tony Finau and Webb Simpson.
